The Swedish Agency for Cultural Policy Analysis is a state authority whose aim is to evaluate, analyse and report on the effects of proposals and measures implemented in the cultural field. This is to be done on the basis of cultural policy objectives. The Agency is also tasked with assisting government by providing underlying documentation and recommendations for developing national cultural policy. The aim of the Agency is, therefore, to create better prerequisites for those people active in the cultural field.

The Agency has 15 employees working on studies and analyses, administration and communications. Most have doctorates with a research background in various academic disciplines.

The Agency for Cultural Policy Analysis is a so-called enrådighetsmyndighet. This means that the Director General is responsible for its work. The government has appointed an Advisory Council to exercise public control and advise the Director General.
