This literature review describes the Nordic countries’ policy approaches to the issue of private cultural funding and examines the extent of such funding in the Nordic countries. It also describes, and discusses, the potential implications of an increased focus on private cultural funding. Particular attention is given to the museum and performing arts sectors, but the broader cultural sector is also addressed.
